Partner with Optum Behavioral Employee Assistance (EAP) as an On-Site Provider

In this NEW and EXCITING part-time position, the chosen candidate will work at an innovative on-site medical facility on the grounds of an Optum customer location in San Jose, CA as a licensed Employee Assistance (EAP) Counselor. This on-site medical facility offers integrated care, including a full suite of medical, vision, and pharmacy services customized specifically for the employees' needs. Conduct clinical assessments and short-term, solution-focused counseling for individual, couples and families. Provide referrals and/or community resources as appropriate for life-work, psychiatric, and/or chemical dependency issues. Respond to crisis issues and Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISD). Partner on a multi-disciplinary team with other health/fitness providers as necessary (i.e. medical, condition management nurse, health coach, etc.). Provide Management Consultations and Management Referrals on workplace issues. Conduct workshops and brown bag lunch sessions on health enhancement topics such as stress management, resilience etc.
The On-Site EAP Clinician will perform the standard core EAP duties, including:
- Initial assessment and triage for mental/behavioral health services
- Short term counseling
- Referrals to legal services
- Referrals to financial consulting services
- Providinge an overview and an explanation of the UBH EAP program and assistance in helping the member access benefits
Additionally, the On-Site EAP Clinician will perform the duties of a licensed mental health clinician, including:
- Crisis and suicide intervention
- Individual therapy
- Marital and couples therapy
- Family therapy
- Partnering with the multi-disciplinary team, such as other health/fitness providers as necessary (medical, pharmacist, chiropractor, dental, health coach, condition management nurse, physical therapist, personal trainer, nutritionist, etc.)
- Conducting workshops and brown bag lunch sessions on health enhancement topics, such as stress management, resilience, positive thinking, etc.
- Providing management consultations on workplace issues
Qualifications
Required:
- Licensed, masters-level mental health professional OR a licensed PhD level Psychologist
- License must be current and unrestricted for the State of California.
- Minimum five years of direct clinical experience in a variety of settings (i.e. crisis assessments and/or substance abuse/chemical dependency)
- Ability to work effectively among different levels of management, personnel and departments
- Ability to understand and work effectively within two large corporations
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills
- Must be flexible and able to work until 7:00 PM, 3 days a week
- Computer proficiency
Preferred:
- Experience working as an On-Site EAP Counselor at a large company/organization within an EAP, Wellness, and/or medical setting
- Familiarity with work related issues
- Expertise in workplace related stress within a corporate environment
- Strong intercultural expertise, particularly in a corporate environment
- Sensitivity and experience in dealing with GLBT related issues
- Familiarity with workplace violence assessments, prevention and post incident recovery
