EAP Management Consultant/Counselor
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing telephonic management consultation and for managing workplace referred cases for Optum client companies. Certifies and monitors appropriate levels of care after the initial assessment. Will interface with key members of the account's work organization, such as HR managers, supervisors and union representatives. Coordinates care with emergency, CIRS, and care management team or other managed health organizations. Responsible for entering relevant data and clinical information into computer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reviews initial A&R clinical assessment with providers. Coordinates and certifies
appropriate level of care. Recommends community resources if appropriate.
2. Provides clinical and work related consultation to providers regarding treatment plans,
job performance, mental health, chemical dependency, and EAP related issues.
3. Assists EAP staff with providing in depth telephonic counseling.
4. Provides consultation for management, union, or other key member of the account's
work organization regarding EAP services, safety sensitive positions, and work related
issues as needed.
5. Highly motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team setting.
6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle a high pressure job.
Positions in this function are responsible for providing counseling telephonically or onsite for behavioral health and employee assistance services. Includes assessment and triage, short-term problem resolution, and referrals.
REQUIREMENTS:
-Registered psychiatric nurse, licensed masters level mental health professional, or
licensed Ph.D.
-LCSW, LPC, PhD, or LMFT. Licenses must be unrestricted.
-PC proficiency required
-Minimum of five years post masters clinical experience in a variety of settings such as
EAP, Managed Care, private or public clinics, with emphasis on mental health, chemical
dependency, and work place issues.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
-CEAP eligible or CEAP certified is preferred
-Strong interpersonal skills
-Managed care and/or insurance or utilization review experience desirable.
-Familiarity with DOT, NRC and other regulatory bodies rules and regulations
